On Saturday, April 9th from 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Bridges, formerly the League for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and the EAR Foundation, and Library Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing will host the 3rd Annual WellFEST at the Nashville Public Library, 615 Church Street in downtown Nashville.
This year, WellFEST will focus on hearing loss in musicians and first responders, including fire fighters, EMTs, law enforcement officers, veterans and military service members. WellFEST’s featured presentations include:
• 9:30 am- “Health Yourself” by Michael McKee, MD, a family medicine specialist with the Folsom Health Center in Rochester, NY.
• Noon- Salude! Whole Foods cooking demonstration
• 2:30 pm- “How to Survive Hearing Loss on the Job and Socially” by police officer Frank DeRiggi
In addition to the formal presentations, WellFEST 2011 will also have health and fitness screenings, hearing testing, massages and informational booths. Sign Language Interpreters and CART will be available.
