This school year, many at-risk Nashville children will lack the supplies they need to enter the classroom ready for success. In order to address this need, on July 29th over 215 volunteers united to make a difference in the Nashville community. The United Way of Metropolitan Nashville organized Day of Action: Stuff the Bus, where volunteers came together to pack 2,600 bags of school supplies for children and teens served throughout Nashville’s Neighborhood Family Resource Centers and United Way partner agencies.
Bridges was one of the partner agencies that received a portion of the bags packed by United Way volunteers for the children and teens in the Youth Program. And on August 4th, before school began and the After School Program kicked-off, Youth Program Manager Julie Perdue and volunteer Marilyn Sutherland went door-to-door dropping off bags to Deaf and hard of hearing Youth Center participants.
Bridges would like to thank the United Way of Metropolitan Nashville, and all the volunteers and donors. Your efforts have made the new school year better for so many Nashville children and their families, and we are so appreciative!
